Andrea Borgen Abdallah
A Los Angeles native, Andrea spent childhood summers visiting her grandparents in Buenos Aires, experiences that eventually fueled her passion for food, beverage and hospitality. After stints with both Hillstone Restaurant Group and Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, she returned to Los Angeles and set out to launch her own concept, an approachable cafe and bar, that would anchor the neighboring community. Barcito opened in Downtown LA in September of 2015. Abdallah was named a 2016 Eater Young Gun, and has been featured on Zagat Los Angeles’ 30 under 30. The restaurant continues to make headlines for its commitment to equitable wages and benefits for all employees, most recently launching High Road Kitchens, a pay-what-you-can program to provide meals for those in need.
