Women’s History Month

It's still ladies’ month, and 10 women-owned restaurants have come together to provide three can't-miss takeout experiences: Concession Stand Snack Box, "Being Thai-Angeleno" Picnic & a Pie Pop-Up.

Support these dynamic female chefs and order for pickup now. Plus, register to join us for another pasta class and two virtual conversations featuring Asian women leaders and superhero-mama restaurateurs.

#1: Concession Stand Snack Box

We miss live sporting events — especially the food and the vibe of eating it with friends, balancing nachos on your lap and clutching a beer. The spirit of March Madness is, indeed, underway, and we're feeling extra-hopeful that the women of the WNBA LA Sparks will be able to play before a live audience come summer. This pre-game experience (featuring Black and Asian-owned businesses!) was inspired by our local lady b-ball players.

#2: "Being Thai-Angeleno" Picnic

When Ayara Thai Chefs Vanda and Cathy Asapahu were kids, this was their atypical family beach-picnic spread courtesy of their Thai immigrant parents. Now, the second-generation owners have reimagined their childhood picnic, and YES, it includes a canned margarita from Chef Brooke Williamson at Playa Provisions. A portion of proceeds will be donated to the RE:Her Grant Program.

ALSO!! Celia & Mo will drop in on our IG (@regardingherfood) and go LIVE on Mon 3/22 at 3:00p. Do not miss these two absolutely vibrant coffeeshop women in conversation!

Virtual Conversations

#1: Invisible HERstory: Cooking the Roman Pastas

Pasta Zoom class is back! Love & Salt Chef Tracey Harada, Semolina Artisanal Pasta founder Leah Ferrazzani and Hotville Chef Kim Prince will build upon their inaugural RE:Her Cacio e Pepe class and teach the next two dishes in the Roman pasta pantheon: Pasta alla Gricia and Pasta alla Carbonara. The true history of both of these dishes is rather murky, and that’s likely because no one asked the women who were actually making it in their homes.

Want to cook along? Pre-order and pick up a pasta kit! Kit includes: Seka Hills Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Sarawak Peppercorns, Alle-Pia Guanciale, 1/2 dozen Chino Valley Ranchers Eggs, 1 block Pecorino Romano and 1lb Semolina Artisanal Pasta fresh spaghetti.

#2: Asian Women Speak Up

Leading Asian female restaurateurs will ask each other the vulnerable, tough Qs on self-expression, confidence, success and more. Speakers: Vivian Ku (Pine & Crane, Joy, Today Starts Here), Mina Park (Shiku), Patti Rockenwagner (Rockenwagner Bakery), Lien Ta (All Day Baby). Hosted by Crystal Coser (Bites & Bashes and founder of LA Food Gang).

#3: Mamas & Micheladas: Discussing the Intersection of Motherhood & Ambition

Join five supermamas in food as they sip Micheladas and have an open and raw rapid-fire conversation on what it means to run a restaurant and a household. Speakers: Natasha Case (Coolhaus), Erica Daking (Kitchen Mouse), Valerie Gordon (Valerie Confections), Briana Valdez (HomeState). Hosted by Bricia Lopez (Guelaguetza).

Bonus: Order your own Michelada kit at Guelaguetza to sip along virtually. Available for pickup at Guelaguetza and DoorDash delivery.
